Prof. Miguel Arenas Bustos’ research spans phylogenetics and molecular evolution, with his lab developing advanced evolutionary models that reconstruct protein evolution under structural and functional constraints. This work extends beyond understanding the evolutionary history of proteins to predicting the future evolution of viruses.
