German Electron Synchrotron (DESY)
The LIV collaborates with the German Electron Synchrotron (DESY) as part of the technology platform Microscopy and Image Analysis. DESY is one of the leading accelerator facilities worldwide. With its large-scale facilities researchers explore the microcosm in all its diversity – such as the interplay of the smallest elementary particles, the behaviour of novel nano-materials and the vital processes occurring between biomolecules. The accelerators and detection instruments developed and built by DESY are unique research tools. DESY is popular among visiting scientists and a sought after partner in national and international collaborations.
