Ascenion
The LIV receives professional support from Ascenion GmbH in intellectual property matters. Ascenion is technology transfer partner to numerous academic research institutes and is sharply focussed on the life-science field. Ascenion‘s local staff start advising and supporting scientists prior to patent applications, for example by reviewing manuscripts and planned publications in order to identify commercially attractive inventions at an early stage and patent them where appropriate. Together with the team at Ascenion’s Munich headquarters, they then develop tailor-made proposals for patenting and marketing strategies, forge contacts with industry, and negotiate fair contracts. In the event that a spin-off is launched, Ascenion helps the company founders become independent and puts them in contact with specialist investors in the life-science field.
Universis
The LIV organises its research data with the Universis-System, a research information system. Universis' modular system captures publications, patents, data from projects as well as grant applications. The LIV benefits from the system‘s statistical evaluations in addition to its systematic presentation of information for internal and external reporting.
