Scientific Unit

The board is responsible for the scientific leadership of the LIV and is monitored by the Scientific Advisory Board and the Supervisory Board.  

The LIV's Research Teams are currently organized into six Research Departments, two Research Units and two Junior Research Groups. In addition, there are three groups associated with the LIV. The science of the Research Teams covers the two coordinated Program Areas Molecular Mechanisms of Viral Pathogenesis and Innovative Antiviral Therapies. Four Technology Platforms provide research infrastructure and equipment.

Science-supporting Units

The Science-supporting Units report directly to the Administrative Director. They include the Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, and Purchasing departments. The Laboratory and Sterile Equipment and the Technical Services as well as the IT department fall also under the purview of the Science-supporting Units.
