Prof. Miguel Arenas: Substitution models of protein evolution: Advances and applications in viral protein evolution
Prof. Miguel Arenas Busto (Prof. für Biochemie, Genetik und Immunologie an der Universität von Virgo, Spanien)
Prof. Miguel Arenas Busto forscht im Bereich der Phylogenetik und molekularen Evolution. In seinem Labor werden fortschrittliche evolutionäre Modelle entwickelt, die die Protein-Evolution unter strukturellen und funktionellen Einschränkungen rekonstruieren. Diese Arbeit geht über das Verständnis der evolutionären Geschichte von Proteinen hinaus und ermöglicht sogar Vorhersagen über die zukünftige Evolution von Viren.
