DZIF partner site meeting at the LIV

On November 20, 2024, the Leibniz Institute of Virology hosted the DZIF partner site meeting for the Hamburg-Lübeck-Borstel-Riems partner site.Representatives from science and research met to discuss current projects, strategic approaches and future prospects in the field of infection research.

The day's program included presentations on the DZIF's Thematic Translational Units (TTUs), including several contributions from the LIV. Prof. Marcus Altfeld, Head of the Department of Virus Immunology and Scientific Director of the LIV, presented current work of the TTU HIV. Dr. Simone Harder, Scientific Project Coordinator of the Leibniz Lab “Pandemic Preparedness”, presented the Lab's strategic goals and its contribution to pandemic preparedness.

The meeting also provided space for networking, for example during the poster session of the MD fellows of the 2023 cohort.

The DZIF site meeting underlines the strength and dynamism of the Hamburg-Lübeck-Borstel-Riems partner site and the importance of cross-site exchange for the further development of infection research.
