HIV Expert Workshop held at HPI

On April 1-2, 2019, experts from the field of HIV research met at the Heinrich Pette Institute for an exchange on the topic “HIV Cure Research on the European Level - Vision 2020 to 2025”.

The workshop was organized by the Thematic Translational Unit (TTU) "HIV" of the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF), of which Prof. Dr. Marcus Altfeld of the HPI has been the coordinator since January 2019. 

In addition to a "Meet the experts" event, presentations of current projects and a brainstorming session on the future of the TTU, a total of three sessions with international experts took place. During those sessions visions for European HIV Cure Research, the possibilities of stem cell therapy, but also the available resources and approaches within the TTU and other topics were discussed.
