HPI Joint Scientific Retreat 2018

On October 18, 2018, the two HPI program areas "Molecular Mechanisms of Virus Pathogenesis" and "Innovative Antiviral Therapies" met at the Gastwerk Hotel Hamburg-Bahrenfeld for a joint scientific retreat.

The event focused on the overarching topics "Latency and Transformation", “Replication and Host Range", "Structure and Dynamics of Viral Morphogenesis" and "Immune Control of Viral Infection". In addition to lectures in which current research work was presented, there were plenty of opportunities for interesting discussions during the breaks, during the poster session and at the evening dinner.

As in the previous year, during the retreat prizes were awarded for the best two lectures (Dr. Eleonore Ostermann and Theodore Potgieter), the best question (Dr. Thomas Günther) and the best two posters (Viktoria Kolbe and Enrico Caragliano). Each winner received a popular science book in recognition of their achievement. Once again, HPI congratulates the winners!
