Leibniz Virology Lecture 2024 with Bernard Moss

Renowned virologist Bernard Moss from the Laboratory of Viral Diseases, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD USA, gave the annual Leibniz Virology Lecture entitled Monkeypox Emerges from Africa with a Name Change on July 11, 2024.

He presented the latest findings on the spread, transmission routes and origins of the virus, as well as the development of new vaccine candidates.

Prior to the lecture, Bernard Moss had the opportunity to get to know the Leibniz Institute of Virology. The Board of Directors gave a short presentation on the Institute's work and research priorities. The lecture was followed by a joint lunch, during which Bernard Moss discussed current research topics with doctoral and post-doctoral students. He also held individual discussions with the group leaders to gain a deeper insight into current projects.

At the annual Leibniz Virology Lecture, renowned external scientists give insights into their research work and are honored for their special achievements.
