LIV at the Longest Table for Democracy, Diversity and Solidarity 2025

On Saturday, June 21, 2025, the Leibniz Institute of Virology was once again part of the Longest Table for Democracy, Diversity and Solidarity at Hamburg's Rathausmarkt.

In bright summer weather, visitors were able to enjoy a varied program on social interaction and civic engagement.

The LIV was represented together with the Leibniz Lab Pandemic Preparedness with fascinating hands-on activities: Young and old interested in research were able to design their own virus buttons and magnets, playfully test their knowledge with a giant virus memory game and experience a S4 safety suit up close. There were exciting insights into the work of the LIV and the Leibniz Lab - and many stimulating discussions, not only with the visitors, but also in exchange with other foundations, far beyond scientific topics.

The event took place as part of the Hamburg Foundation Days 2025.
