New HPI Postdoc representatives elected

Dr. Annika Niehrs, Dr. Boris Krichel and Dr. Timothy Soh were elected as the new HPI Postdoc representatives. They take over the position from Dr. Glòria Martrus Zapater and Dr. Giada Frascaroli. The Postdoc representatives are elected annually by the postdoctoral fellows of the institute and represent their interests in front of the Board of Directors.
Dr. Annika Niehrs is researching in the Research Department "Virus Immunology" headed by Prof. Marcus Altfeld, Dr. Boris Krichel is working in the Junior Research Group "Dynamics of Viral Structures" supervised by Dr. Charlotte Uetrecht and Dr. Timothy Soh is working in the Research Department "Structural Cell Biology of Viruses" headed by Prof. Kai Grünewald and in the Associated Group "Quantitative and Molecular Virology" of Prof. Jens Bosse.
Annika, Boris and Timothy, it is the first time that we have three postdoc representatives at the HPI – what led to this decision and what are the advantages?
Since the HPI grew so much over the past few years and is now also represented at the CSSB (Centre for Structural Systems Biology), it made sense to also have a diverse representation among the postdoc representatives. The advantage is that we can share the workload and thus be more efficient.
What goals do you have during your time as postdoc representatives?
We want to establish a better network and interaction between the postdocs at the HPI but also improve communication with the Leibniz postdoc network.
The HPI would like to thank the current and former postdoctoral representatives for their commitment!
