This year's program featured four thematic sessions: "Viral Tropism and Pathogenesis", "Pandemic Preparedness", "Emerging Viruses and Proteomics" and "Molecular and Structural Virology." A total of 22 presentations were given, showcasing the latest research developments. In addition, a poster session and a World Café on key topics relating to the institute provided opportunities for networking and sharing experiences among the participants.

At the end of the day, awards were presented based on a vote by all attendees. The best poster awards went to Jule Alina Russow and Cedric Mahncke from the research group Emerging Viruses, along with Swaiba Umm E from the junior research group Genomics of Retroviral Infections. Dr. Andrea Pirosu was honored with the award for the best talk of the day for his presentation on "Deciphering BK Virus Infection in Tubuloids".
