Prof. Dr. Marcus Altfeld panel guest at symposium in Hamburg's City Hall
Last Friday, October 25, 2024, the symposium Trans*besonders: Wissen, Vernetzen, Gestalten (Trans*special: knowledge, networking, design) took place in the Kaisersaal of Hamburg City Hall. The event brought together leading experts and activists to discuss current developments and challenges in the areas of self-empowerment, gender diversity and queer perspectives.
At the invitation of Dr. Adrian Hector, spokesperson for gender diversity for the Green Party parliamentary group in Hamburg, renowned speakers from politics, science, activism and film discussed various key topics. Among them was Prof. Dr. Marcus Altfeld, LIV Scientific Director and head of the Virus Immunology research department, who gave a lecture on the topic of trans* immunology and highlighted the latest scientific findings on immunology in relation to trans* health issues.
In the course of the evening, Dr. Adrian Hector spoke about the developments of the Self-Determination Act, Julia Monro, activist and consultant for gender diversity, shed light on the introduction of Sensitivity Lanes at the DFB, and director Toby Chlosta presented the web series Queer Amsterdam, which shows queer perspectives in film and series.
