Research Areas

Our group focuses on unraveling the intricate interactions of viruses with the cellular repertoire of host cells. For this we leverage authentic, complex cellular model systems, such as three-dimensional organoids, that better mimic the multicellular architecture, cellular diversity, and tissue-specific functions of native tissues. With these model systems, we aim to decode virus-host interactions, focusing on host dependency factors and host restriction factors. In addition to our foundational molecular research, we are committed to bridging the gap between basic science and translational research upon addressing clinically relevant research questions.
