Viral Systems Modeling

To develop innovative measures to prevent and treat viral infectious diseases the Junior Reserarch Group Viral Systems Modeling requires a deep mechanistic understanding of virus replication and spread. To decode the complexity of infectious diseases, the group is combining virus dynamics modeling, bioinformatics and data mining to model complex biological processes in silico

Such computer models allow to systematically analyze factors that influence virus replication, and design novel treatments that target molecular disease mechanisms, facilitating the development of bio-inspired measures targeting both the host and the virus.
