HPI employee at an Electron microscope

The Microscopy and Image Analysis technology platform uses a variety of electron microscopic techniques such as cryo-, transmission or environmental scanning electron microscopy as well as innovative light and fluorescence microscopy to display virus-infected cells and tissues. Analytical possibilities range from the structural resolution of viral pathogen processes in intact cells and tissues to the in situ display of dynamic molecular interactions between virus components and cellular macromolecules. The technology platform is part of the Structural Cell Biology of Viruses research department and specifically complements the methods and subjects of the structural and systems biology research area of the CSSB department. Additionally, the NIKON Center of Excellence is located in this technology platform.
