Our Computing Infrastructure

Modern virology research generates enormous amounts of data, and making sense of it requires serious computational power. That's why we operate a dedicated high-performance computing (HPC) cluster, purpose-built to handle the most demanding research workflows our institute has to offer. Our cluster is built around multiple state-of-the-art servers designed to handle a wide range of computational tasks. Whether you're running large-scale molecular simulations, training AI models on viral sequence data, or processing high-throughput experimental results, this infrastructure is designed to get the job done.

For imaging and visualization workflows, or for tools that require a Windows environment, we also obtained a dedicated Windows server to ensure you're never limited by software compatibility. Behind the scenes, our team, in close collaboration with the central IT department, handles all hardware, configuration, and maintenance.

In addition, we're committed to making your research data not just stored, but useful to you, your collaborators, and the broader scientific community. That means following the FAIR principles: making data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable. Our upcoming Research Data Management (RDM) system will bring automated tools for data curation, sharing, and long-term preservation, helping your work meet the highest standards for reproducibility and scientific impact.
