Responsible AI usage and safety
We support LIV’s growing interest in integrating artificial intelligence into scientific and operational workflows by helping researchers and staff explore its potential thoughtfully and responsibly. Our team provides practical assistance in setting up AI workloads on high-performance computing (HPC) systems, helping optimize resources and ensure smooth, efficient execution of machine learning tasks.
To support safe and effective AI use, we offer regular introductory workshops covering key topics such as data privacy, model transparency, and strategies to recognize and reduce bias. We’ve also implemented a dedicated generative AI (gAI) system, a secure, monitored chatbot designed to assist with research tasks and science-supporting tasks while protecting sensitive information.
As part of the institutional AI advisory committee, we help bring together diverse perspectives to share knowledge, align on best practices, and guide the responsible integration of AI across departments. We’re also actively working on refining and updating AI guidelines to support ethical use, accountability, and reproducibility. Through these efforts, we aim to create a supportive environment where innovation and responsibility go hand in hand.
