Small Animal Models
The Small Animal Models technology platform provides the infrastructure and staff for the use of small animal models in basic and therapy research in virology in compliance with animal welfare, gene technology and disease control regulations.
Current small animal infection models are now consolidated and located in modernised BSL2 and BSL3 animal husbandry facilities equipped with the latest imaging equipment.
Besides health surveillance and the maintenance of breeding and experimental animals under Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) conditions and FELASA guidelines, the platform also provides centralized consulting and assessment of animal testing applications as well as histological processing of animal experiments. The modernized infrastructure and technical competence of the technology platform provides the basis for the subject areas’ research targets and also serves to further develop small animal models at the LIV.
Das LIV hat sich der „Initiative Transparente Tierversuche“ angeschlossen
